From River Heads
River Heads is about a 20 minute drive from Hervey Bay which takes you out of the southern end of town, past the domestic airport. Once past the airport you continue for around 4 kilometres and turn left at the ‘RIVER HEADS’ sign. From there its about a 10 minute drive straight to the ferry terminal. The ride over to Fraser takes about 30 minutes which will see you ready for your 4wd adventure. To save money, fuel your vehicle up before arriving on Fraser Island.
The ferry costs $120 return (vehicle & 4 passengers), $6.00 for each additional passenger.
River Heads times 9.00am 10.15am 5.30pm
with an extra trip on Saturdays at 7.00am.
Wanggoolba Creek depart 9.30am 14.30pm 16.00pm
with Saturdays extra departure at 7.30am.
